Narjes Mathlouthi

Biography

Narjes Mathlouthi is a PhD student in Geography and a Master’s candidate in Probability and Statistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). She earned her Master's in Environmental Science and Management from UCSB's Bren School and a Bachelor's in Environmental Economics and Policy from UC Berkeley. Narjes' research focuses on leveraging advanced machine learning techniques, remote sensing, and socioeconomic data to improve food security in Africa. Previously, Narjes interned at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), where she developed predictive models for high-temperature alloys. She also served as a grants officer at Global Fund for Women (GFW), managing international grant portfolios across various areas including economic justice and crisis management. In academia, she has made significant contributions as a teaching assistant and associate student instructor at UCSB, delivering content across multiple departments and disciplines.
