Lei Song

Biography

Lei Song is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the University of California, Santa Barbara, working under Dr. Amy Frazier at the SCALE Lab. She holds a PhD and MA in Geography from Clark University and a BS in Geographic Information Science from Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology.

Research

My research is about species conservation and human-wildlife relations. I specialize in using Remote Sensing (RS) data to understand terrestrial ecosystems and optimize tools for modeling species distribution and landscape connectivity. I study strategies to mitigate the ecological impacts of climate change and human disturbances, such as agriculture. I also do some analysis of land cover and land cover change, with a particular emphasis on employing Deep Learning (DL) models.
