Professor Keith Clarke Leads Digital Mapmaking Workshop

UC Santa Barbara Geography Professor Keith Clarke kicked off the History of Art and Architecture’s Digital Image Lab Series with a mapmaking workshop.  Professor Clarke showed how digital programs have made it easier to create and access maps and how the internet has made it possible for anyone, even those without a background in geography, to map almost anything.  Professor Clarke also explained how digital cartography or mapmaking now also includes a degree of expected interactivity, which he demonstrated with the interactive map of UC Santa Barbara.  Read more about it on UC Santa Barbara’s Humanities and Fine Arts page, “We are all Cartographers:  Keith Clarke Explains Digital Mapmaking”.
