NSF Fosters Travel for Sarah Battersby

Sarah Battersby has recently received a competitive award of $1750 from the Association of American Geographers to help fund her travel to the International Geographical Union (IGU) Regional Congress in Brisbane, Australia from 3-7 July. The award is funded by the National Science Foundation and is offered to U.S. scholars with research deemed to be of “scientific merit.” At the meeting, she will be presenting a paper entitled “Development of abstract and real-world understanding of geospatial concepts.”

Professor Reginald Golledge and graduate student Meri Marsh are also attending the meeting. Sarah says that she plans to put her funding to good use – “with the favorable exchange rate, $1750 buys a lot of Fosters.”
