I am currently working with
Prof. Phaedon C.
Kyriakidis and Prof.
Michael F. Goodchild on statistical modeling and analytical
methods of spatial data, particularly, spatial context modeling
and aggregation methods of heterogeneous data, as well as the
associated computational problems, such as high performance
Geocomputation and
efficient
geometrical algorithms. Besides, I am also interested in
cartography, Geovisualization and techniques that could improve
the accessibility of map for people,
in particular,
the visually impaired people. Prior to
UCSB Geography Department, I had
been focusing on the research and development of methods in 3D
terrain modeling, 3D Geovisualization, spatial analysis and
spatial network analysis. I received my M. S. degree in
Cartography and Geography Information System
Institute of
Geographic Sciences and Nature Resources Research,
Chinese
Academy of Sciences. At the same time, I had been one of the main
contributors to the SuperMap GIS
software suite, a leading software in China and led the
development of a 3D GIS software in
SuperMap. I received my bachelor
degree in Remote Sensing Geology (with minor in Computer Science)
from Zhejiang University.
